Our Monitoring Center
Our systems are monitored by real people in our award winning monitoring station right here in North Carolina. This local company was founded by Ralph Brown in 1963. Originally named Lake Norman Security Patrol, Inc., Ralph learned the importance of security while he served as a military policeman for the U.S. Army in the 1950s. Upon returning home, he realized there was a way to provide 24 hour protection to the people in his community.
Today, Security Central has grown into one of the largest monitoring centers to provide monitoring and dispatch in the nation. When your alarm is triggered, we can dispatch assistance - not just the police, but the fire department or EMT’s as well.

About Our Founders
​
Grady Lee Smith, Sr. and his wife, Linda Smith, began this company in 1989. Both coming from humble beginnings, they sacrificed together to build the company from the ground up while raising 3 children. Grady Smith, Sr. was a proud serviceman of the U.S. Airforce, revered father, pastor, and business owner. Growing up as a sharecropper with 11 brothers and sisters, he was no stranger to hardship. He used the lessons that hardship taught him like resilience, perseverance, and work ethic to build the business into what it is today.
​He loved the Lord and used his presence in people’s homes to create a truly personal relationship with his customers and spread the salvation message to many who needed it. He worked tirelessly to support not only his customers but also his family. We are proud to carry out his legacy.
